Albrecht Durer Young Hare

Albrecht Durer Young Hare

Young Hare (German: Feldhase) is a 1502 watercolour and bodycolour painting by German artist Albrecht Durer. Painted in 1502 in his workshop, it is acknowledged as a masterpiece of observational art alongside his Great Piece of Turf from the following year. The subject is rendered with almost photographic accuracy, and although the piece is normally given the title Young Hare, the portrait is sufficiently detailed for the hare to be identified as a mature specimen. The German title translates as “Field Hare” and the work is often referred to in English as the Hare or Wild Hare.

Albrecht Durer Praying Hands

Albrecht Durer Praying Hands

Betende Haende, in English Praying hands (also known as Studie zu den Haenden eines Apostels in German, or “Study of the Hands of an Apostle”) is a pen-and-ink drawing by the German printmaker, painter and theorist Albrecht Durer, executed circa 1508. The artwork is stored at Albertina museum Graphische Sammlung in Vienna, Austria. Durer used white heightening technique and black ink on (self-made) blue colored paper. The drawing shows two male hands palm to palm praying, the body to the right (not seen). Also, the partly up-folded sleeves of the prayer are seen.

Vincent Van Gogh Peach Tree in Blossom

Vincent Van Gogh Peach Tree in BlossomĀ

Peach Tree in Bloom is a fine art painting in vibrant orange and yellow colors by Vincent van Gogh. Flowering Orchards is a series of paintings executed by Vincent van Gogh in Arles, in southern France in the spring of 1888. Van Gogh arrived in Arles in February 1888 amid a snowstorm; within two weeks the weather changed and the fruit trees were in blossom. Appreciating the symbolism of rebirth, Van Gogh worked with optimism and zeal on about fourteen paintings of flowering trees in the early spring. The ‘trees and orchards in bloom’ paintings Van Gogh made reflect Impressionist, Divisionist and Japanese woodcut influences.
